Sex Workers of The Future: Exhibition Walk-Through & Time Capsule Workshop

Presented by Sex Workers Outreach Project Pittsburgh (SWOP PGH)

Join SWOP PGH for an exhibition walk-through and workshop that celebrates the local sex worker community, while imagining liberatory futures. Artist Lena Chen (a facilitator of SWOP PGH’s monthly support group) will lead a tour of the third floor which features her work on sex workers’ digital labor experiences. The tour will be followed by a workshop at SWOP PGH’s pop-up resource center on the first floor, where you can contribute letters and objects for a time capsule to be opened in 2032. Visitors can also pick up free community resource guides, safe sex work kits, and mutual aid materials. This event is open to sex workers and allies.

Sex Workers Outreach Project is a 501(c)3 national organization and social justice network that focuses on ending the violence and stigma associated with sex work through education and activism. The SWOP Pittsburgh (SWOP PGH) chapter began organizing in late 2017 to create healthy and safe networks for Pittsburgh-area adults engaged in sex work and to fill the massive gaps in culturally competent services for adults involved in various forms of sex work. Our initiatives include a mutual aid fund, monthly support groups, and community programming. Support this work by donating at www.swoppittsburgh.com/donate.
