Disorienting CMU: A Walking Tour

Gathering at 2nd Floor of the Miller ICA, walking around CMU Campus

Join local data justice advocate Bonnie Fan for a walking tour that activates sites of contention around tech gentrification and carceral violence like the Mon-Oakland autonomous shuttle or the Pittsburgh predictive policing project. Using auto ethnographic reflections and an interactive reworking of public meetings and private dirt, this tour reflects on the community affected locally and abroad by the university’s legacy of research and its labor.

Please come wearing comfortable walking shoes, dressed for outside weather and carry a water bottle if possible!
