FUSION! Artists in a Research Setting

Image
Duration
August 22, 2000 - September 29, 2000

The work exhibited in Fusion!—whether in documentary or actual form—represented the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry’s 11 year-long history. More than 20 artists (and others) were awarded Research Fellowships at this unusual institution, which attempts to integrate the resources of Carnegie Mellon University in collaborative, artist-initiated projects. Few generalizations can be made about the stunningly diverse array of works in this show—only about the highly collaborative processes and multi-disciplinary methods that resulted in their production.

Featured works by Frank Garvey, OmniCircus, George Roland, Timothy Collins and Reiko Goto, Kathleen Knauer, Michelle Buys, Sue Thompson, Suzanne Meyer, Beth McCartney, Joel Tarr, Shera Moxley, Richard Pinkman, Noel Hefele, Mike Leonard, Ayat Osman, Hsi Shen, Rob Fisher, J. Christopher Forman, Kevin Beaulieu, EventScope/Big Signal, Michael Mateas, Marc Bohlen, Omer Akin, Bharat Dave, Rana Sen, Carolyn Speranza, Lisa Link, Deborah Tomson, Susan Lee, Roger Dannenberg, Karl Fisher, Patricia Maurides, Paul Vanouse, Kevin Beaulieu, John Pollock, James McClelland, Paul Glabicki, The Institute for Applied Autonomy, Stephanie Flom, S.K.
